First thing to say about Vegas is HOT!!! Those that know us well know that hot is not a nice word in the Holly dictionary. Even the motor home did not like this word but thank goodness the air conditioner kept working. It may not have kept up at all times but it kept the dogs comfortable while we went off to explore with the rental car (thank you AMEX points). However we wanted to do Vegas for the Blueman Group and Hoover Dam.
We arrived Tuesday and the first stop was Tix 4 tonight. We were able to get really good Blueman tickets for the normal price of the cheap ones for Wednesday night show at 9:30. The cheapest RV park was at this casino on Boulder Highway. It was a great place because it had a pool and the casino had bowling, movie theater, and some other fun stuff for kids. We went over to explore the place and to play a round of bowling. The boys were amazed by the size until we showed them the casinos on the strip.
Wednesday we got our rental car and headed out to the Hoover Dam for a dam tour (yes there were lots of dam jokes the entire day) The Dam was incredible but boy is the water level LOW!! We headed back into town to explore a couple of casinos. Ceasar’s was neat with its mall that makes you feel like you are outside but you are very cool.
Blueman Group was great. We had been to the Boston show so this was fun to see a bigger show and different stuff. There are 2 bands and a lot more big balls that drop from the ceiling at the end. We all had a blast and Quinn got to bring home a marshmallow that Mark caught.
Thursday morning was spent at Camping World getting the slide out adjusted. We then set the motor home back up and went to a buffet. Nikoli had seen one on Anthony Beurdain’s show so we found out it was the Bellagio. We ate mid afternoon and that was it for the day. We all left feeling like a stuffed pig. However the food was amazing. Even the hamburger sliders were awesome meat. We then went to explore and found out the roller coaster ride at NY is $14 a person, we passed on that one. Going through all the casinos to try to stay cool was a great way to explore and not get heat stroke.
Friday we are off to San Diego but one stop on the way – Pawn Stars. The shop they let you in to explore I think is the original shop that the show is based on. When you watch the show you see cherry wood cabinets but we did not see those at all.
